Founded in 2003 in Lausanne, the company of Corinne Rochet and Nicholas Pettit, PETTIT*ROCHET, quickly established itself on the Swiss and international choreographic scene. From 2012 to 2020, it benefited from several GRANT CONVENTIONS FROM THE CANTON OF VAUD, demonstrating its artistic vitality. In 2006, the company won the EUROPEAN AEROWAWES CHOREOGRAPHY COMPETITION, followed in 2007 by the Awakening Prize awarded by the VAUDOISE CULTURE FOUNDATION.

Since 2018, Corinne ROCHET and Nicholas Pettit have placed at the centre of their research: the element “water” as a constitutive, interpretative and creative inducer. Throughout the history of art, the theme of water is singularly present and remains current. It challenges both our collective conscience and our personal sensibilities and invites us to embrace a cultural movement committed from an ecological, philosophical, political or social point of view. Water is the necessary condition for life. It is the source of life in all civilizations, in all religions and all myths. Firstly, to enter in and through the matter, matter which becomes material. Make this material a physical, kinesthetic experience that triggers sensations, emotions and affections. At the origin of this approach is a personal research: an experience as a performer and choreographer, the search for a specific dance experience. Their vocabulary develops in a flux: between fluidity and thickness of gestures, between anchoring and overflow. Their pieces are designed as play spaces, inviting the public to enter them, leaving them free to make their own search for meaning and satisfy their need for abstraction.
